Master's

In order to obtain the degree, the Master's student must complete 04 elective courses, 02 of which belong to the line of research in which the dissertation project is located and 02 from among the others offered by the program.

In order to promote student mobility, it is permitted to take up to one course in another PPG in the Area duly approved in the CAPES Quadrennial Permanence Assessment, provided that the following conditions are met: (1) the course is offered by a Program with an agreement signed with the Communication PPG or with the University itself, which provides for student mobility; (2) the course workload to be taken in another Program is compatible with the courses offered by the UNIP PPGCOM; (3) the student's research project is in line with the advisor's; and (4) prior authorization from the Program Board.

The set of elective subjects to be offered in each semester will be fixed, in advance, by the Program Collegiate.

The payment of the credits shall be made by sum of:

  • Completed Subjects: 20 credits (at least)
  • Scheduled Activities: 09 credits (at least)
  • Article Publishing: 03 credits (at least)
  • Proficiency in foreign language (English, French or Spanish)
  • Qualification Exam: 04 credits
  • Masters Dissertation: 20 credits

Total credits to obtain the title: 56 credits (at least), Or 952 hours.

DEADLINE FOR OBTAINING THE MASTER'S TITLE
24 (fourthy-four) months

Doctorate

In order to obtain the degree, the PhD student must complete 04 elective courses, 02 of which belong to the line of research in which the research project is located and 02 from among the others offered by the program.

In order to promote student mobility, it is permitted to take up to one course in another PPG in the Area duly approved in the CAPES Quadrennial Permanence Assessment, provided that the following conditions are met: (1) the course is offered by a Program with an agreement signed with the Communication PPG or with the University itself, which provides for student mobility; (2) the course workload to be completed in another Program is compatible with the courses offered by the UNIP PPGCOM; (3) the student's research project is in line with the advisor's; and (4) prior authorization from the Program Board.

The student must be registered and participate in the activities of the Advisor's Research Group.

The payment of the credits will be made by sum of:

  • Subjects: 20 credits
  • Participation in seminars: 10 credits
  • Publication of articles: 10 credits
  • Scheduled Activities: 10 credits
  • Proficiency in foreign language (English, French or Spanish)
  • Qualification Examination and participation in defensive stalls: 10 credits
  • Guidance and conducting research: 60 credits
  • Doctoral thesis: 60 credits

Total credits to obtain the title: 180 credits, or 3060 hours.
